Rapeseed Meal

Rapeseed Meal

Product Description

Mustard seeds (Brassica napus) also known as Rapeseeds and oilseed rape is a very widely cultivated crop throughout the world as a major source of oil. Rapeseed is usually cultivated in climates unsuited to soy production due to its high oil yield. The seed is primarily cultivated for the extraction of oil, the meal that is remained after oil extraction is called rapeseed meal and is protein-rich used either as high protein feed supplement provided that glucosinolate level is reduced.

Rapeseed meal, called canola meal in some other countries, is the by-product of the extraction of rapeseed oil. While solvent-extracted rapeseed meal remains the main type of rapeseed meal available, but due to research and demand of today, oil-rich rapeseed meals obtained by mechanical pressure have gained popularity since the last decade with the more and more emphasis on organic farming and in-farm oil production.

Our rapeseed meal is the product of rapeseed processing after oil extraction with the use of additional treatment involving heat and humidity (toasting). The rapeseed (Mustard Strain) processing employed at the factory is based on the fore-pressing/extraction method without the preliminary seed hull separation stage.

Health Benefits

The rapeseed meal features have high general nutrient value and digestibility and therefore is a valuable source of premium quality feed protein and a well-balanced amino acid supply.

Rapeseed Meal contains approximately 40% of protein max which rates among the nutritionally best plant proteins.

Application

Rapeseed meal is being used in India as an ingredient for cattle and poultry feed. It is well accepted by millers in many countries. Rapeseed meal is used for feed purposes by direct injection into the diet of the animals and for feed production. The use of rapeseed meal in dairy farming leads to an increase in quantity and quality of milk yield and milk protein composition.
